Hey folks, We've received quite a lot of feedback of recent and it's been extremely useful, we very much appreciate it! As A Simple Measure is a personal project to see if people would find a use, it seems they have and there's been a lot of feature requests coming through too. Not to mention the odd bug here we've attended too but if you spot anymore please let us know. Thanks for your help and we'll get on to roll out some of the new features suggested soon!

Grand Designs for A Simple Measure

We almost fell off our chairs when we were contacted by Grand Designs and told A Simple Measure was being mentioned in the July issue of Grand Designs magazine. Fancy having a nosy? We're on page 130 in the 'stop press' section. So it seems we're getting a little following in the architecture world. Awesome.

Our First Month Live!

We've just celebrated our first little birthday – one month live! A Simple Measure launched on the 21st April 2009 and we’ve now received over 14,000 unique visitors coming from over 130 countries so I guess we're not doing too badly so far. We've launched the start of our community We don't pretend we're good at everything which is why we're recruiting you folk to offer similar folk DIY advice, hints, and tips in the form of our new community 'ask around'. You can post questions, offer answers to questions, and even vote for the answer you like the most. We've also added a profile section so that you can also tell everyone a little bit about yourself and your DIY expertise. Now all we need is for you guys to start posting questions on there to help solve some DIY problems. Let us know what you think. Real Homes for A Simple Measure

Out into the wild, it was like sending a small child off to their first day of school this morning as A Simple Measure was released into the big wide world of consumers. We’ve been waiting with baited breath for the April issue of Real Homes’ Newswire to land in our inbox. It’s the first time we’ve really pushed A Simple Measure into the public eye and we’re crossing our fingers everyone likes it as much as we do.

We’ve been burning the midnight oil

The latest developments to ASM have now gone live, which includes some nifty little improvements; check out our room calculator, new room dimensions, and e-newsletter sign up. We like to hold our hand up when we don’t get things just right first time. After some more careful thought we realised that the simplest way to record dimensions is to use width (W), depth (D), and height (H). Therefore we’ve updated the room, fixtures, and fittings pages to make things easier for you. But if you’ve already recorded your measurements, don’t worry, we’ve automatically changed these for you. Simple! We know how much everyone hates maths and so with our new calculator we’ve done the sums for you. Once you enter the W x D x H measurements of your walls, we will then tell you the total area of your walls and floors, as well as the total area incorporating any fixtures such as windows and doors. Clever hey? We’ve also added a sign-up function on our homepage for you to subscribe to out monthly newsletters. These will include news from A Simple Measure, helpful DIY tips, and special offers. No, we don’t like Spam either and therefore we promise to only send you the really juicy bits that we know you’ll love.

Hold tight, iPhone version on the way

We never rest and we’re always thinking of the next best thing to send your way, so an iPhone version of A Simple Measure is imminent. Soon you will be able to access all your room measurements in the palm (whilst looking extremely cool at the same time!)

We’re feeling colourful!

As promised we’ve now launched the first of many developments; a colour palette for you to select and store the colours of your walls and furnishings. We like to make things really simple for you. So next time you’re in a diy store, simply log on to A Simple Measure or print your summary page to make your decorating selection choices even easier.
